Next meeting – February 6, 1:00 pm, Cancun Room
Machine Embroidery Club
Coordinator: Carol Goodman
- The Machine Embroidery Club is for owners of all types of embroidery machines and anyone interested in machine embroidery. We discuss all aspects of embroidery, designs and share ideas and expertise on various techniques. Bring your completed projects for Show & Tell. Also bring your not so successful projects where club members may be able to help problem solve and give tips to help you turn it into a successful project.
Meetings are held the first Friday of the month November to March at 1:00 pm in the Cancun Room (check the calendar for possible cancellations.) Demonstrations and workshops are offered each season. Attendance is open to all residents of Valle del Oro regardless of how long you are staying in the resort.
Come to the next meeting and be prepared to be inspired by the beautiful work you will see!

Learning to use the Embroidery Machine
A one-on-one orientation with an instructor is offered which is is approximately 2 hours in length. You will learn the basics of preparing your project for embroidery and basic use of the machine.
The sign-up sheet for an orientation is posted in the sewing room by the bulletin board where all class signups are located. As with all sewing room classes a deposit of $10 is required which is fully refunded when you attend the orientation. If you have to cancel please do so at least 48 hours prior and you will receive a full refund. Your deposit will be forfeited if you cancel with less than 48 hours notice or do not show up for your orientation. There is a $2 supply fee for taking the orientation and for each half day session that you use the machine thereafter.
Bring a 12″ square of white or off-white fabric to use at your orientation.
When you are certified you will receive a jewel to apply to your name badge. When you plan to use the machine, you will need to make a reservation by signing up on the embroidery machine calendar located on the wall above the embroidery machine. Be sure to bring $2 to cover the cost of supplies for each half day or evening session. You will also need to show the jewel on your name badge to a monitor or you will not be able to use the embroidery machine.
